Fitness is not defined in the walls of a gym. It is defined in our everyday lives and by how we physically negotiate the knowable and the unknowable obstacles that come our way.
This is where we train for it.
Crossfit Buffalo was established in 2007 as the first Crossfit Affiliate in the Buffalo area.
Our purpose here is to teach you exactly how your body works and to maximize its performance on all levels. Here you will learn gymnastics, weightlifting, running, jumping, rowing, proper nutrition and everything else that your body was intended to be able to do before life got in the way.
Please do not expect to learn the same old stuff here. You will not be run through the standard leg press, leg extension, leg curl, chest press etc...In fact you won't even find them here and we will teach you why these things SHOULD NOT be done.
"But I can’t do pull-ups/push-ups/sit-ups?" You will. "I will never learn how to clean and press/snatch/deadlift?" You will. You will be able to do these things and look back wondering how you never could before, and why you would ever train any other way again.
There is a growing revolution in this world of people who are concerned about their level of fitness, not their appearance of fitness. People who feel that the best way to look fit is to BE fit, and who recognize that the latter is most important and the former comes along with it. Every aspect of your fitness will be addressed here. Cardio-respiratory endurance, strength, stamina, flexibility, speed, power, accuracy, agility, balance, and coordination. We all have strong points and weak points. We will make sure you train both.
There is probably one of a few reasons why you are reading this right now. You may have already heard about Crossfit and searched for a local affiliate. One of your family/friends comes here and would not stop hounding you until you gave it look. Or maybe you were searching for a new fitness philosophy and some twist of fate led you here. Ultimately it does not matter. You are searching for something. You either have a long standing love with or fledgling curiosity of what could be your current state of physical being. You could be at the top of your game still believing there is a next step, or at the starting gate wondering if this time will be different. Well there is a next step and yes this is different.
Lose weight, gain weight, get fast, get strong, feel better, and look better. That should just about cover it. “It” being the normal list of reasons that most of us write down on the little evaluation forms they give you at most gyms. You know, right above the spot where they ask you to list five of your friends that they can call to tell them about the great deal you just got on your membership and how they, too, can take advantage of…oh, you have heard this one. Crossfit deals with human performance…period.
Anyone can do this. Our clients come from all ages and backgrounds. Results will come hard and fast because you will be working with productive movements in a productive environment. You will be known by name here. Not just by the instructors but by your fellow members as well. No need for an I.D. number or membership card. You will feed off of energy here and you will bleed dedication like you never thought possible. I promise you. You are capable of so much more than you know.
You will learn what it means to make fitness a lifestyle in it's truest sense. To be strong and conditioned because you ought to be. To look at food as a pathway to better health and performance. However long you stay with us, what you learn here will stick with you for life and you will pass it along to anyone who will listen and even those who try not too.

Oh and we will not ask for your family and friends names here. Just please introduce them when you are dragging them through the door.
